    Tataph website

this is funny because if you follow this link http://www.tataph.com/site/. it claims to be the official website of the table tennis of the philippines. there are a couple of problems ryt here. if you check out the website especially the officers of the supposed to be original officers. it shows a batch of different officers but not the one recognized by the POC. this is the same website but with a different look but still has some of the officers from the old before it closed then re-opened. tapos it claims na self proclaim daw ang current prez by the POC. A fugitive of justice daw. kung fugitive siya bakit siya prez ng TATAP at di siya nagtatago. at bakit recognized siya ng POC at hinde kampo ng website na eto. a fugitive runs away from the law & obviously since the current prez TIU is seen by a lot of people. baka invisible naman siya kaya di siya nahuhuli ng mga pulis. kung si erap may kaso pero tumakbo pa rin for prez si TIU pa ? the question everybody wants to know is why did this website disappeared then suddenly appeared after the POC recognize TIU as the prez of tatap. at isa pa, bakit tataph ang name ng website. does it mean TATAPHumiliated ?

    Being a school varsity member

Just want to enquire the benefits of becoming a table tennis varsity member say in UST, San Sebastian, FEU…

      Benefits?

First of all, the opportunity to study in a prestigious university is a great plus especially among varsity players coming from the provinces. With the yearly increase in tuition fees in big universities in Metro Manila, even the middle class families have a hard time in paying it. Hence, the privilege of studying in these universities free of charge is a welcome opportunity for parents.

Once a student is included in the varsity program of these schools, he/she is honed not just by his skill but in other aspects as well: Discipline, Teamwork, Independence, Confidence and Obedience.

Based on my personal observation, most players nowadays seems to undermine this once in a lifetime opportunity. Based on my statistics, only those who are determined and knows how to manage their time succeed in finishing their course. Unfortunately for others, they are too preoccupied playing their sport to the point that they spend few time in their studies, much less attend their respective classes. It seems that they have forgotten that their stay in the university does not lie on being a varsity alone, it goes hand in hand in passing their subjects.

That is why, I can only advise to those who aspire to become a varsity in big universities in Metro Manila to develop the habit of time management, the passion to read, attend classes and the need to prioritize their education. Coaches should not only focus on developing their skills, they should also help their players develop that sense of independence, self-motivation and social skills.

Thanks for this, but i’m only after the general info of becoming a varsity player. The other bits come down to the individual, whatever his/her goal in life is. You mentioned about the free of charge, I guess that is full scholarship. Is there some sort of half scholarship? Meron bang ibang conditions of becoming a varsity player, other than being a good player, like good grades?
Also, how do you get into the team? Kailangan bang nasa top 5?
Sensya na po, dami ko tanong.
      Cheers :)

Also, how do you get into the team? Kailangan bang nasa top 5?

Some players are scouted from tournaments and games like Palarong Pambansa
