Iloi-ilo padllers faces tough opponent in
3rd Philippine Olympic Festival Visayas Games

The forthcoming 3rd POF Visayas Qualifying Games will be held July 23-27, 2008 at Dumaguete City, Negros Orriental. Coaches of participating team is all set to impart their expertise, valuable knowledge and sacrifices to their athletes in their respective fields to uphold or to snatch the title.

Thousands of athletes, parents, coaches, delegation officials and technical officials from different provinces and regions in the Visayas area will battled for the medal as well as for building together for excellence in character, discipline and achieve unity.

One of these annual biggest sports events to be competed is table tennis. And Mr. Dante Boquiren of Table Tennis Association of the Philippines (TATAP) will be the Visayas Tournament Director.

Last year, the remarkable performance of Team Iloilo that converged 4 gold , 3 silver and 5 bronzes and hold the overall title after competing in last years 2nd Philippine Olympic Festival Visayas Qualifying Games held September 10-16, 2007 in Covered Gym, Iloilo City Sports Complex.

Juliet Gayoso and Jee-R Gicana, Suzette Mynah Sarate and Vince Oliva of Iloilo hold the POF Visayas tilt in 17 and 14 years old below in girls and boys singles respectively.

No doubt, that this team is eager and ready to defend their respective title they seized last year.

Gicana, gold medalist in the National POF Championship boy’s single 17 yrs old below held in Ninoy Aquino Gym last November 12-18, 2007.

Also recently captured the title in the same age level in LOPTTA National Age Group Tournament at Bacolod Citty.

Gayoso, a silver medalist in the National POF Championship held in Ninoy Aquino Gym bears the 2008 Palarong Pambansa title in secondary girl’s singles and recently captured the title in the same category in the LOPTTA National Age Group Tournament at Bacolod City.

Likewise Vince Oliva ruled the LOPTTA National Age group that held in Bacolod City.

Juliet Gayoso and Jee-R Gicana, Suzette Mynah Sarate and Likewise Vince Oliva of Iloilo are among table tennis player to stare on by the crowds, coaches and officials in 17 and 14 years under.

No doubt, that this team is eager and ready to defend their respective title they seized with the expertise of their coaches Cyrus Tolentino, Simplicio Gayoso and Nannette Gayoso.

It’s expected strong contingent are players from Cebu, Tacloban, Negros Occidental, Antique, Capiz, Guimareas and host Negros Oriental.

    In My Humble Opinion, walang tatalo ke Juliet Gayoso sa Visayas… here greatest opponent will be Gloen Abales or Niña Dy of Cagayan de Oro City. ;)
