1. Theme layout

  • Home page displays four featured article at the top with picture
  • Five Recent articles at the lower left
  • Seven featured video. Feel free to submit if you have a good quality video

2. Blog page

  • Displays article like the old design

3. Comment layout

  • Changed from flat to nested. Flat layout displays recent comment at the bottom of each page. with nested, comment is displayed right at the bottom where you replied. Sample, comment #3593. I think this is better than flat so we can easily follow discussions especially if the response is not related to the article. If you prefer it in chronological order, you can check the latest comment from the right side bar “Counter loop”.

4. Bookmark it

  • Social bookmarking is now supported, find the icons right below the article. Let me know if your social Bookmark is not on the list, I might be able to add it.  I use Delicious and you can view my bookmark at http://delicious.com/htan68.

    Social bookmarking is a method for Internet users to share, organize, search, and manage bookmarks of web resources. Unlike file sharing, the resources themselves aren’t shared, merely bookmarks that reference them.

5. Breadcrumbs (navigation)

  • Located right above the article title. Not really useful in viewing post but maybe useful when viewing pages like club listing in “Directory”

    Breadcrumbs typically appear horizontally across the top of a web page, usually below title bars or headers. They provide links back to each previous page the user navigated through to get to the current page or—in hierarchical site structures—the parent pages of the current one.

6. Better private messaging

  • Like an e-mail sent from one user to another user on an Internet forum
  • Just try it, you can find it from the forum page (just below the shoutbox/chatbox)

7. Category list

  • Categories drop down menu moved to the top (gray) bar.

8. About the author

  • If you are an author or contributor, information entered from your user profile is displayed below the article, for this you can see  “About Harry” below.
