2010 US Open with Open Liha
USA Table Tennis (USATT) as the national Olympic governing body of table tennis in the United States would like to extend an unique invitation to enhance cultural and diplomatic relations between the United States and the Philippines. Specifically, USA Table Tennis would be very honored to have a delegation of Filipino “Liha” athletes attend the US Open in late June 2010 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The liha event in the upcoming US Open will be put in the history books for sure. But I wonder whether our Top Lihadors (Richard Gonzales and Berto Bas) will be granted US Visa? I am sure that there is a chance for the Malabon Team to grace in this tourney with the leadership of Atty. Nepomuceno.
I do hope that as early as now Pete and Oskie and the rest of the Phil. TT community will “volt-in” so that our top lihadors could participate and compete in this once in a lifetime opportunity este…event.

i was telling mike ng usatt – our very own richard gonzales our no. 1 liha player in liha was at his nose.
but these guys doesnt know how to show their own culture. !!! minsan tinatago pa ata eh, inferiority complex?
so are many of the leaders. dont know -how to!!!

when lihadors go there they are to be term as”cultural” players
parang “cultural” dancers
i dont care kahit pa aeta /aborigins ang pupunta sa states , as long as they are specially invited to dance
the rare aeta cultural “dance” that they have preserve for years and is
shown of enough financial backing naman
and if these “natives” are the only peole left on earth who can show what filipio “folkdance” is
yan ang close to being approved!!! both filipino govt at embassy
pinoy pride ito ! for filipinos this is cultural pride.

Ang tinutukoy ko na pustahan ay “side-bet” lang at nde alam nang mga players. Balato na lang matatanggap nila after the game. Sa goma meron naman pustahan ah? previous Jawad Cups basta umaabot si Mark Jimenez at Emmanuel Motel sa finals pustahan kaagad mga Ilonggos versus Cebuanos.
Normally, dito sa Cebu ang larong “liha” ay bibo ‘pag meron pustahan… it’s always money matters pagdating sa liha kahit dumadayo mga tatay nang players sa probinsya tuwing regional meets hanap kaagad saan naglalaro mga lihadors.
