BEIJING, Oct 13 (Reuters) - China’s national table tennis team will give Olympic medallist Wang Hao counselling after he reportedly got into a fight with a security guard for trying to stop him from urinating outside a karaoke club.
Local media reports last week quoted witnesses as saying that the twice Olympic singles silver medallist had emerged drunk from a karaoke club on Thursday and come to blows with the security guard when he tried to urinate outside the building.
“I am the famous Wang Hao! I am the world champion! Does it matter if I beat you?” shouted the 24-year-old, according to a witness quoted by the papers.

I heard Viddler long time ago but did not really bother about it until I came across (again) to a site who’s video are hosted in Viddler and found out that it has more under the hood than Youtube. So I did a quick review and here’s what I like:
1. Upload up to 500 MB per video, this is awesome if you have a high speed internet access, you can dump a longer video.
2. Allows you to place tags right in the video timeline to describe the video
3. You can comment out which common to other video host sites too but his one is on the timeline, place your mouse over to the white dots in timeline from the video below and the comments will pop. Read the rest of this entry »

The RPB specialist Wang Hao (24) last October became the world #1. He is always 3rd in their lineup, but this time on 2nd because Korea is a very strong team and China got XYZ; so he will play in the fourth game if Korea wins a game. This is the only game that Wang was under pressure, lost the first set, 10-8 in 2nd game but Lee made 3 points in a row turning the table to 10-11 with two unforced error from Wang Hao. Lucky enough, Wang with 4 net touching shots in that deuce race.
World #39 Lee (23) “The Korean Tornado” is equipped with powerful forehand drive, superb counter loop plus good blocking tactics. He won 6 out of 8, only defeat came from Poland’s world # 80 WANG Zeng Yi and China’s Wang Hao.
If your name starts with Wang, you may be able to beat him too.

Found this E-learning from Tibhar, it is in German but easy to use. It’s one of the best that I have seen, if you found a better one, please feel free to post the link here.
All you need is to click the menu (Eng) and pick from sub-menu (Ger) then click one of the camera angles labeled 1 to 4.

Timo Boll’s table tennis site www.timo-boll.de was revised recently with contents in Chinese. Question now is, do they have plans to add contents in English?
Anyways, here’s what I found from his site; Click on “aufschlag” then click “trainingstipps”, you will find 6 training videos available for free. You may need to check this link frequently for updates.
I also have it here for you to view or download in case they are no longer available or when his site is under maintenance.

Few months ago I received a mail from one of the members requesting to put the Table Tennis Challenge Match 2001 video between Peter Franz (GER) and Mathew Syed (ENG) back online. It was uploaded 2 years ago and deleted after a couple of months, not to save space but to save time to backup the whole site.
You can download it for free until the end of this month or view it anytime at Youtube. To prevent direct linking from other site you need to key in guest as user name and the password abc123
This is one of the memorable tournaments of Mr. Syed as it was his first win against Mr. Franz, tough game 7 with final score at 16-14.

Here’s a good video of pendulum serve from Oh Sangeun (KOR). Notice the movement of his right foot in preparation for the next shot. Also take a closer look on to his racket movement, some players swing their racket sideways after the impact to conceal the spin applied to the ball; and some swing their rackets downwards.
