Wang Hao (CHN)BEIJING, Oct 13 (Reuters) - China’s national table tennis team will give Olympic medallist Wang Hao counselling after he reportedly got into a fight with a security guard for trying to stop him from urinating outside a karaoke club.
Local media reports last week quoted witnesses as saying that the twice Olympic singles silver medallist had emerged drunk from a karaoke club on Thursday and come to blows with the security guard when he tried to urinate outside the building.
“I am the famous Wang Hao! I am the world champion! Does it matter if I beat you?” shouted the 24-year-old, according to a witness quoted by the papers.

BEIJING, June 17 (Xinhua) — China announced its Olympic table tennis squad in a news conference of the State General Administration of Sports here on Tuesday.

“Ma Lin, Wang Hao and Wang Liqin will play for the men’s team, while Guo Yue, Zhang Yining and Wang Nan will play for the women’s team,” Liu Fengyan, director of the National Table Tennis and Badminton Center of the State General Administration of Sports, said. Read the rest of this entry »

Ms. Rachel RamosMs. Rachel Ramos, the secretary-general of the Table Tennis Association of North District (TATAND) has just returned from her impressive umpire’s duty at the 49th Ever Grande World Table Tennis Team Championships held in Guangzhou, China, from 23rd February to 3rd March 2008. Ms. Ramos is indeed very much grateful for being given the opportunity to work in this ITTF’s major event and consequently gaining a lot of needed exposure and experience in international umpiring.

It was a stroke of luck for her as, on the last part of 2007, her name was selected to join the list of visiting foreign umpires to this WTTC 2008 from numerous nominations received by the ITTF Umpires and Referees Committee (URC) from different Associations worldwide. Philippine International Veterans Table Tennis Championship 2007As of Oct 17, 2007, teams from Australia, Japan, China, Hongkong, Taiwan, England, USA and Singapore have all submitted their entries totalling to 131 players. while teams from Vietnam and Macau are yet to confirm their participation by end of this week.
