Team UC-C of Dannel Jay Tormis and Tata Carreon settled for third place (3-2) against Team Huaching-C of coach Raffy San Juan and Jason Rodriguez.

Negros Occidental Table Tennis Team rules 3rd Philippine Olympic Festival Visayas Table Tennis Championship Games

Negros Occidental Table Tennis Team captured 4 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronzes to rule the 3rd Philippine Olympic Festival Visayas Table Tennis Qualifying Games held July 23-27, 2008 at Foundation University Gym, Dumaguete City.
Mentored by Marell Lagunday (former RP team), overall champion Negros Occidental opened up in the elimination round, building commanding leads by occupying the 1st and 2nd spot in their respective bracket in boy’s and girls singles 14 and 17 years old under. Read the rest of this entry »

This is to formally conclude the 1st Enriquez Table Tennis Cup 2008. We are sincerely grateful to all the participants, the organizing committee, technical committee, coaches and friends for making this event a success. Pingpong will always have a special part in our life as a couple. And just as it serves as a source of fun memories, everlasting inspiration, healthy exercise and great friends, we wish that everyone will also continue to value and support this sport.

PO3 Jose Ortalla Jr and Joseph Cruz of Philippine National Police Table Tennis Club (PNPTTC) placed at top 64 in men’s singles open in the conclusion of US Open table tennis championship at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas USA.
Ortalla, the vice-president of Table Tennis Association of the Philippines (TATAP), and Cruz had survived the 800 participants from various continents that competed in the popular week-long international tournament.
“It was really a great experience playing our first US Open because we met popular international players,” said Ortalla, who landed at top 32 after his rival, Chinese Shen Qiang was already default the match when he arrived 1 hour late.

Ayos naman ang laro, umabot sa top 32 ng Men’s Open si Jon Ebuen. Si Patrick Baum naman ng German Nat’l Team, is one time World Junior Champion. Ka Team mate nya si Timo Boll at left hander din siya. Halos pero ang style ng laro ni Patrick Baum at Timo Boll.
1st game against Patrick Baum, panalo si Jon Ebuen easy lang, Hindi na solve ni Patrick Baum ang 3rd ball attack tactics ni Jon.
2nd game lamang si Jon 9 – 6 natalo pa, hindi kasi naging aggressive ang bata natin.
3rd – 5th game, nagapi si Jon dahil sa palaging nag kakamali sa 3rd ball attack, gigil sa masyado sa bola dahil sa tingin nya ay madali lang tirahin ito.
Bagamat natalo kay Patrick Baum, sa round of 64, meron namang tinalo na rated 2702 from French National Team daw ayon sa nakaka kilalang kaibigan. Ang pangalan ng tinalo ni Jon ay si Danny Lo, tinalo ni Danny Lo si Chen Qi ng China National team noon, na ngayon ay world rank no.6.
Tinalo ni Jon Ebuen si Dany Lo ng 4 – 2, magaling sa backhand at defense at medyo fansy mag laro si Dany Lo, Pero kalimitan ng atake ni Jon Ebuen ay nag papasok kaya nahirapan si Dany Lo. Naging maigting ang palitan ng palo, mahirap kumuha ng puntos ngunit naging matagumpay naman na nagapi nya ang kalaban
Sa tingin ko tataas muli ang rating ni Jon Ebuen.

After a ceremonial program with Former Games and Amusement Board Commissioner and now incumbent City Councilor of Bacolod HON. ALEX A. PAGLUMOTAN, all participating teams paddled out to outwit, outshine & outnumber for the kick-off THE 2ND SANLOU’S GOODWILL TABLE TENNIS TOURNAMENT.
In anticipation of the much awaited fight between Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao and David “Dangerous” Diaz, Sanlou’s Table Tennis Club’s atmosphere was transformed into an Epic battle Arena between teams that strives for both “Prize and Pride” by displaying courage, style, strength, endurance, stamina, and a true example of a competitive athlete.
One of the major highlights of the day is the match between Joola – Royal Truckhaus and Ioilo City’s Guimbal Table Tennis Club. It was the match between “The Executive” Arnie Uy (Joola) and The Rising Talent Jee Ar Gicana(Iloilo) that brought the crowd into a heart-pounding moment of exhilarating excitement as they alternately snatch the lead on each other. Pasig table tennis team named as the overall champion in the recent 3rd Philippine Olympics Festival NCR Qualifying games held at Harrizon Plaza, Malate, Manila by hauling 4 gold, 1 silver and 7 bronze followed by runner-up Manila team with 1 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronzes.
The medal winners of the POF NCR Qualifying Games and all participating NSA national team members will compete in the POF National Championships on October 20-26, 2008 at Misamis Orriental.
The Philippine Olympic Festival Organizing Committee (POFOC) was created by the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) to plan, organize, and oversee the POF Games to be run by participating National Sports Associations (NSAs), and appoint host Local Government Units (LGUs).The POFOC was headed by Hon. Robet N. Aventajado, Chairman of POFOC.
